Start-up BW Summit 2019

Last week Vhite Rabbit was at the Start-up BW Summit 2019 in Stuttgart, Germany. It was our first event, hence a thrilling experience, especially for Jonathan, who did his first public pitch in front of a group of 40-50 people!

To have something to attract people with, we prototyped an “Augmented Reality Booth” Web App in five days specifically for the event. It allowed people to scan a QR code to get to a website that was able to transform the booth into an interactable digital version.

Pitch

We were one of 200 booths at the Start-up BW Summit with around 5000 visitors in total, hence it was important to somehow stick out. While we cannot judge whether we succeeded at that, having Jonathan pitch about the booth prototype definitely helped.

Here is a recording in case you missed it. Make sure to turn on subtitles, the audio is phone-level quality:

Augmented Reality Booth

Especially for the event, we created the prototype of an augmented reality web app in five days. The app transformed the real booth into a digital one, which allowed for interaction with and exploration of a wonderful virtual scene.

With this web app, companies can leverage AR to bring digital exhibition pieces in cases where their product is too large, fragile, dangerous or complicated to bring to an event. See it here in action:

We really enjoyed our time at the event and will continue working on the AR web app to improve its stability, performance and flexibility.
